Hat-Trick Challenge Update: One Step Closer to History

Nims ‘Nimsdai’ Purja only has four mountains to go to hit the historic hattrick goal

In 2025, Nimsdai Purja set out on one of the most ambitious mountaineering missions ever attempted: the Hat-Trick Challenge. The goal? To finish climbing all 14 peaks above 8,000m and the Seven Summits, for the third time each. This will be a world-first and a feat that may never be repeated.

The Hattrick project is one with a bigger purpose however, it aims to raise vital funds for the Nimsdai Foundation, which ‘redefines what is possible through projects that Inspire, Educate and Protect.’ All donations and sponsorship from the Hattrick Challenge will go to support the Foundation’s charitable work including: building a new Porters’ House at Lobuche (5,000m) to provide safety and dignity for the heroic porters who make all  Everest expeditions possible, help undertake veteran rehabilitation through the Project Odyssey treks, protect the Himalayan environment through more Big Mountain Clean-Ups and support youth education in Nepal.

Now, the project, and fundraising mission, is one step closer to completion.

Seven Summits: 5 mountains completed in full, with Carstensz Pyramid (1 ascent) and Vinson (2 summits) to go.

This extraordinary effort is not about personal glory. It’s about giving back. The Hat-Trick Challenge is entirely self-funded, ensuring that every pound raised goes directly to the Nimsdai Foundation.

Why does the Hat-Trick Challenge matter?

The Nimsdai Foundation has been making a difference across Nepal, Pakistan and the UK since 2022. This year, the landmark Porters’ House at Lobuche is under construction. This is a fit for purpose safe rest point for the Everest Porters, at Lobuche (5,000m) on the trail to Everest Base Camp. This project will provide safety, shelter, and dignity for the high-altitude workers who make Himalayan expeditions possible.

Other initiatives include:

·      Project Odyssey: Veterans rehabilitation through adventure treks – most recently to Kilimanjaro.

·      The Big Mountain Clean-Up: High-altitude clean-up and conservation – including waste clear-up on Everest, K2 and Manaslu.

·      Scholarships: Education and outreach for future generations.

The final push

With just a handful of summits left, the finish line is in sight. The target to fundraise to support the Nimsdai Foundation is £1,138,000 — a symbolic figure that matches the combined elevation (in feet) of the 14 peaks.

This is your chance to be part of history, and to make an impact that lasts far beyond the mountains. Corporate Game-Changers can get their flags on the highest peaks and support the future of the Big Mountain Communities, contact the Nimsdai Foundation – info@nimsdaifoundation.org

Reflecting on the challenge ahead, Nims said this challenge was about inspiring people to dream big and look to their own personal goals and achievements:

Nimsdai Purja

“Every step I take on these mountains is not just for me—it’s for all of us who dare to dream.

“No mountain is ever climbed alone. Whatever your personal mountains are—whether in the outdoors, in business, or in life—know that you have the power to overcome them. We all have our Everest. Let this challenge be a reminder that nothing is impossible when we stand together. I am asking for everyone’s help to support this hat-trick challenge – not for me, but for the Nimsdai Foundation and for all the lasting good these initiatives will do for the Big Mountain communities.”
